Emelyn (they/them) believes that the salon should be a safe space for everyone! From a young age, they knew that they were gender nonconforming. Growing up in Wentzville, going to the salon was always an awkward experience because of their nonconformity. Going into cosmetology school they set out to make their salon experience a safe space for everyone, because everyone deserves to be able to look and feel their best. They are an alumni from Paul Mitchell the School Saint Louis. Continuing education is so important to Emelyn, with the Up and Up Salon, they already started my continuous education in the right direction, having taken advanced color and cutting education from some of the top educators in our country. They have two cats, Trixie Mattel and Carol Shelby. Whenever they are not at the salon, they are hanging out with them. They also play video games and watch horror movies (Midsommar and X are some of their favorites! They love working with vivid color, curls and lived in color.
